Biography:
Joel B. Stevenson was born in Asheville and grew up in Transylvania County. After graduating from the University of North Carolina in 1970 he returned to Asheville and entered practice with Robert S. Swain, a prominent trial lawyer and later also a member of the North Carolina State Senate. After Mr. Swain's death, he continued their practice in what is today the Stevenson Law Firm.
He has practiced in Asheville and Western North Carolina since 1970. He is admitted to practice in all Courts in North Carolina and in the Federal Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. He has successfully represented thousands of clients in his areas of practice in both the trial and appellate courts of North Carolina. His success has been built on his personal relationship with his clients, his knowledge of the law and his thorough preparation of each case he undertakes.
